2-sport athlete – earned (7) letters in Basketball and Football throughout high school sports career.

 

Basketball

As a freshman: Point Guard - Led team in assists and steals.

As a sophomore: Point Guard - Led team in assists and steals.

As a senior: Point Guard - Second on team in assists and steals.

 

Football

Freshman: Third on team in rushing and second in touchdowns.  Defensively, led team in interceptions.

Sophomore: Led team in receptions, reception yards, and reception touchdowns.  On defense, led team in interceptions.

Junior: Led team in receptions, reception yards, and reception touchdowns.  On defense, led team in interceptions.

Entering senior year: Ranked in Chicago Sun-Times preseason Top 100 high school football players in Illinois.

Earned SICA South All-Conference honors in Football.

Ranked #3 - Athlete Two-Way Player (Wide Receiver and Cornerback) in SICA South Conference

Junior: Led team in Rushing Attempts, Rushing Yards, Average Yards per Rush (5.0 yards per carry), and Rushing Touchdowns

Coach Duncan Ward is the Wheatland Athletic Association Basketball Director for the Wheatland Wizards Travel Basketball programs.  In this role, Coach Dunc is also the Head Coach for the Wizards High School and grade level 4th-8th teams for boys and Lady Wizards.  Coach Dunc conducts the Wizards basketball player development and skill training sessions.  He handles all tryouts, pre-tryout camps, and off-season conditioning for the Wizards and Lady Wizards travel basketball programs, boys and girls.  Coach Dunc runs the Wheatland Wizards (boys) and Lady Wizards programs for fall, winter, and summer, basketball leagues.  Coach Dunc deeply & truly loves working with the Wheatland Athletic Association board, staff, parents, and participants (young & older youths).  For many years to come in the future, Coach Dunc will continue working in this role as the Wheatland Wizards basketball Director ensuring the programs are of quality and fun for kids to compete in.       

Coach Dunc is a 1996 graduate of Elmhurst University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.  

Coach Dunc is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorportated (ABO - Alpha Beta Omicron Chapter - Spring '94).

Coach Dunc has obtained two master's degrees: MSW in Social Work from Aurora University in 2015 and a MSHSA in Human Service Administration from Spertus University in Chicago in 2004. 

 

Currently, Coach Dunc is the Executive Director at North Side Housing and Supportive Services in Chicago, Illinois.  He is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW).

Coach Dunc has been providing individual skill development training to competitive and travel basketball players, both boys and girls, ages 7 thru High School age throughout the Chicagoland area.  As a Head Coach in the Wheatland Athletic programs since 2010, Coach Dunc basketball teams have won league championships and his team has achieved 1st place in several tournaments throughout the counties of DuPage, Cook, Will, and Kane in Illinois.  Through his individual skills training, Coach Dunc has been instrumental in player development for several high school varsity, sophomore, and freshmen basketball players in IPSD 203, 204, and OCSD 308.
